Ingredients
  • 2/3cup butterroom temperature
  • 2cups brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2teaspoon Salt
  • 2teaspoons baking powder
  • 2cups all purpose flour
  • 1 granny smith applepeeled & chopped
  • 1/2cup toffee bits
  • For the Frosting
  • 1/2cup butter
  • 1cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4cup milk
  • 2cups powdered sugar
  • 2cups powdered sugar
Instructions
For the Blondies
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat 9×13 baking pan lightly with nonstick spray. Set aside.
  2. Using a handheld beater, beat the butter and brown sugar for 2 minutes on medium speed. Add the eggs, vanilla, salt, and baking powder and continue mixing until combined, scraping the sides of the bowl as necessary.
  3. Turn mixer to low and add in the flour mixing until just combined. Stir in the chopped apples and toffee bits until evenly distributed.
  4. Spread batter into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes until the center is set.
  5. Let cool completely before slicing or frosting.
  6. Let frosting set for at least 30 minutes and then cut into bars.
For the Frosting
  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Add brown sugar and milk and bring to a boil. Remove from heat. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in powdered sugar with a whisk and let cool until it thickens enough to spread.
How to Assemble
  1. Spread frosting over the cooked bars and serve.
